About the event

With PepperJam Pepperjam are a 9-piece ‘old-school’ band playing all original material rooted in reggae, dub, rocksteady, ska, funk, soul and jazz, but with a rocky twist. They are well known for their storming live shows with a great atmosphere, always guaranteed to get everyone up, dancing and in a party mood, whilst still delivering a socially and politically aware message. Pepperjam are a collection of very experienced musicians and could even be termed ‘old school’ in that ‘what you see is what you get’ with everything in their shows played live, as you see it.

SistaJam Sista Jam was born out of lockdown as a group of female musician friends forming a wellbeing support group to get through isolation times and keep their inner music alive. SistaJam are a brand new, beautiful melting pot of female musicians, singers and songwriters from Calderdale. Their stunning original songs and inventive takes on classic tunes feature lush harmonies, infectious melodies and a unique, exquisitely feminine sound that will make you both reflect with a gentle sigh and dance your socks off!

And with speaker Sarah Autumn Sarah Autumn is passionate about bringing together activism, media and art to build resilient and expressive communities. She organises across a range of connected issues including climate justice, anti racism and the refugee crisis. During the pandemic Sarah cofounded a Community Arts organisation in which creative media projects address issues of the world and give voice to underrepresented communities. Recent projects include a Spoken Word radio show, live events and creative workshops.
